We’ve visited community gardens, bus stops, even Costco, surprising people who #needalift but it all started at our Main Street Coffee House. People regularly check-in to our Main Street Coffee House on Foursquare and we wanted to reward them for staying active online. If you’re a Foursquare Newbie, check-in to any of our coffee houses for a surprise!

It’s the holiday season which means that most of you have shopping on your mind. With the bustling crowds and noise, it can be a pretty stressful experience - and definitely a moment when you might #needalift. Our friends at Costco always have a lot of shoppers, so we decided to stop in.

Remember, if you need some tips, to check out the Fair Trade shopping guide we posted earlier today.

For visitors to Vancouver, riding the Aquabus is a must on their to-do list. Rain or shine, these wee ferries and their captains are ready to provide their passengers with scenic transport across False Creek. They’re always around when you #needalift - so we thought we’d return the favour.

Salt Spring Coffee Tip: if you take the Aquabus to Granville Island, stop by and visit our coffee bar at Edible Canada!

We love community gardens and in Vancouver, especially East Van, there is no shortage of options. Not only do they contribute to the sustainability of a neighbourhood, but they bring people together to form a collective with similar goals, values, and interests that benefit these neighbourhoods.

And with Vancouver’s unpredictable weather, we couldn’t think of a better group who might #needalift.
